How we work
Small engagements. Measurable outcomes. Artifacts you keep.
SierraFlux is a specialized practice — not a staffing firm, not a slide factory. We work in focused engagements with defined deliverables, and we leave when your team can run what we built.
What we are not
Plain language, no ambiguity.
- We do not augment your staff or sell hours on a bench.
- We do not produce strategy decks without implementation paths.
- We do not measure AI success by license count.
- We do not draw target architectures and disappear.
How we bill
Advisory
Advisory engagements — delivery, architecture, AI SDLC — are scoped by outcome and phase. You know what you are buying before we start.
Builds
Output-oriented builds are fixed-scope: a defined deliverable in production, weekly outcome demos, acceptance criteria written upfront. Not hourly. Not open-ended.
Engagement phases
Every phase produces artifacts your team can act on.
01
Baseline
Measure what is true today — metrics, release path, architecture, SDLC.
02
Diagnose
Find the constraints that limit throughput, reliability, or quality.
03
Remediate
Execute with concrete artifacts — not recommendations alone.
04
Verify
Confirm improvement with before/after evidence. Hand off. Close.
Working norms
- Direct access to engineering leadership — no account-manager layer
- Async-first with weekly sync; no standing meetings without agenda
- Deliverables live in your systems — GitHub, Confluence, Notion — not a proprietary portal
- Honest scope: we will tell you when the problem is a hiring decision, not a consulting one
What we need from you
- A sponsor with authority to act on recommendations
- Read access to metrics, repos, architecture docs, and incident history
- Four to six hours of engineering leadership time in the first two weeks
- Willingness to measure before and after — not just after
